    Hi folks

Went to this Fri pump running all the time amd no motor action. Found motor capacitor blown and float micro welded ( least not clicking presume welded due to fault current).

Canged both but fault still same altho tank full light opperating now when float switch opperated. Presume some thing else welded. Suspect timer or back feeding somewhere?

Need wiring diagram or suggestions if someone else has had this fault before if possible.

    Thanks

    Mick

Sorry guys meant to post a completion on this –

Checked with wiring digram 😀 and found motor TOC must have blown along with welding the float switch when the capacitor blew. Bit that confused me was the fact the pump was on all the time which i never realized it does anyway. Probley because I never heard it running in opperation before because the main drive motor would drown it out. For some wierd notion I only expected it to come on when the float switch opperated but on reflection that is a stupid thought 😳 Put it down to my age or the time of the month :rolls:

That’s a surprise to me too. So what happens when the float chamber gets full then?

Pump does run all the time, if the water container is not emptied the water overflows back into the float chamber tripping the float switch.

This cuts out the heater and switches the ‘Empty Water’ light on.
