An old dishwasher i know but can anyone help.
Tempremental i think is the word, it is having problems filling with water on some programmes not all. when you open the door the heater elements are glowing bright red and a burning smell, i dont really want to part with it if it can be salvaged…

Intermittent faults can only be guessed at TBH.

Could be blocked or gunged up hoses, faulty fill/safety valve, sticking micro switch etc.

Looking at the parts list there are a lot of parts that are obsolete on this machine so you need to proceed with caution.

Do not replace it with another Hotpoint under any circumstances. :rolls:

As a rule it’s a very straightforward, simple fix. Just a question of a good service/clean out of the internal hoses and stuff. Well worth considering calling in a local guy to fix in my opinion. Most parts are still available and many (in my neck of the woods at least) are working just fine. 🙂

Try looking for a local recommended engineer HERE.:D
