Hi , got a problem with my dishwasher today, let me explain… After running the machine earlier, found a strange smell like a vaguely electrical or TCP disinfectant smell. Dishes were not as hot as usual after running and they were still wet, not dried. Ran machine again later , noticed lots of odd clicking noises at start of cycle , no lights were on , but water was filling. Turned off, emptied water out of the bottom, checked filters (clean), re-ran machine, same problem.Help!

pcb burnt out. classic no heat failure and dry joint will be in the middle of the board

some of them can get very very black.

Thanks gandh1, I’ve taken the decision to say goodbye to the trusty old bosch having done good service for many years and have ordered its cousin a siemens, good deal at John Lewis.

make sure you register the full guarantee in case it comes with a 5yr manufacturers warranty. however dry joint repairs from specialist engineers like emw work out at under £50 inc vat. would be worth ebaying the old machine as spares or repair for 0.01p rather than paying someone to take it away 🙂
