ParticipantI have an AEG 86741 update washing machine.
I am getting a C1 code after the wash cycle and just before it goes into the rinse cycle (does it top up water here?).I then press start and it completes the cycle.
I have had the soap dispenser out and blew it out and that is OK. I have also had the solenoid valve pack off the back of the dispenser and operated them with voltage and water connected and they all pass water OK
Could it be that the signal is not getting for the top up of the water prior to rinse?
Can anyone advise what the problem is and what part I need.
ThanksMarch 21, 2011 at 7:00 pm #347578kwatt

C1 is a slow or no fill error.
Either restricted or a fault valve most likely, can you see the PNC number of the rating plate?

Hi K,
PNC no is 914 002 562 00
Ref the valves I have tested them and they all work but the one that feeds the prewash side of the dispenser does not flow the same as the wash sided one i.e less flow rate (white solenoid is less than black solenoid). Could this be the issue? Also noticed that some of the times for washes has gone up after doing what I thought was a reset (press prewash and sensitive then turn knob to short spin wait for lights to stop flashing then turn to off). Why would this have affected the wash times? Can I reset this back? How do I do that?
This is over and above the C1 issue.Your help is greatly appreciated,

I’ve found it now.
Lovely, quite a complicated machine with all the bells and whistles on it by the looks of it.
It has a three way water valve on it ordinarily one would be for prewash, one for main fill and one for rinse or two come on to force water over and take away the conditioner but I don’t know how that machine is set up to operate. Never seen one in my life. 🙂
If you have managed to reset it then no, there’s no way back from that.
What the C1 error is telling you is that the machine cannot detect the flow or fill level. It isn’t going to tell you exactly what the problem is I’m afraid, more on fault or error codes in this article if you want to know how they’re viewed.
So, for that error you have the logical assumption would be that it’s one of the following that’s causing the problem:
Water inlet valve
Pressure switch or sensor
Blockage to the pressure sensor
Water inlet restriction of some sort
Electronics problemThe trick is obviously in sussing out what one actually is causing the fault code to be displayed.
Unless anyone else knows more about these machines that’s about as much as I can help you I’m afraid.

Thanks K,
The pressure switches click OK when blew in
I have blew out the pipes to the pressure switches and OK
Water is flowing in OK
Ref the valves, one does not flow as much as the other but whether that is right, I don’t know.
Electronics woooooow !!!!!!Is there any way of getting hold of diagrams , wiring and mech of these machines?
Otherwise I guess I’m stumped but thank you very much for all your help,
Regards

Na, I couldn’t even get the diagrams off the Electrolux site, they seem to have vanished. 🙁

Hi,
I have just noticed that the C1 fault only appears when doing a cottons/linen wash and it shows C1 at the start of the rinse part. So I am wondering whether it is the water not coming in quick enough because when I press the start button it then fills up more and then it goes on thro’ cycle to the second rinse where the C1 happens again and pressing start initiates filling again and then it completes the total cycle.
Can anyone please confirm if this is a valve not opening fully problem, as I do know that the white valve does not pass water as fast as the black valve from some previous testing I have done.
Can you also tell me the part to order please (PNC no is 914 002 562 00)

Hi K,
Thanks for the link.
Do you believe it is a good chance that it is the valve not passing enough water thro? Thanks Again.

It sounds like it but it’s hard to be absolutely sure.
