Machine is about 20 months old. She apparently had a new motor fitted as a foreigner by a Comet engineer about five months ago, but thats another story.
It has been fine until last week when it tripped the RCD every time she opened the door. Sadly it seems she tried it several times before ringing me. :rolls:
The awful, flimsy door wiring harness was trapped tightly between the black sticky stuff on the door and the tension bar that connects the two hinges. most of the wires had chafed through, two had snapped altogether.
I repaired the wiring but although it does not trip out, it is totally dead. 😥
No physical signs of any damage on the main or the display PCB’s.
Is it likely that her constant tripping of the RCD has damaged the main board?
Jim.
