    Absolute *&*{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}ard to get this out on to his slate floor so I want to be as sure as I can be before I get this mother out.

    The float switch in the base is activating intermittently, causing the machine to drain constantly.
    Am I correct in assuming that this has a direct feed from the right hand tank (air break?), as when filling (sometimes :rolls: ) the float switch rises when the machine nears the end of the fill.

    as this is the old style smeg, it may be worth flushing the tube from the air break to the sump out with very hot water. There is a hole at the back of the sump under the filter, right hand side, which may or may not have a flap over it. I use a syringe with a short length of rubber pipe atatched, fill with just short of boiling water, insert hose as far as it will go (there is a 90 degree bend to get around) and pump the hot water in and remove the hose and watch the crap float out on the water. This may do the trick and not need pulling the machine out to do so. If not then I would suggest a new air break rather than trying the clean the old one.

    😀 Ah!!! Forgot about that. I spent most of the time there trying to suss how the thing would come out if the tank needed changing. Thank you sir hopefully that’ll cure it…..I hope.
