ParticipantNot trying to sound greedy (because i know Amica pay well as an industry standard)…. but id hate to be missing out on some thing. Has there been any talk of increasing the call out price due to rising fuel costs? Also can you claim more for a job that is more labor intensive ie. a drum change? or is it a case of taking the rough with the smooth?
Thanks DJ

Yeah I had that conversation with an agent a short while ago which, can’t recall if it was ISE or Amica but it went along the lines of…
Agent: “Can I get paid more to do a drum change” (or whatever else it was that day)
Me: “Sure, if you only invoice us for £42 for any call that doesn’t get qualified as a “big” job and £35 for an inspection only or exchanged machine. You can have it one way, you can have it the other, but you can’t have both sides of your bread buttered.”
After some thought he decided, quite rightly IMO given the rates on offer, that the balance of things was in his favour and he decided that the best policy was to wind his neck in. 😉

i also do statesman appliances and they pay £25 extra for changing the bearings-if you knock them out and not change the rear of tank. i was not aware they paid any other extras . let me know if you know otherwise?

RC do that as well I think.
It’s worth it when the parts cost is greater (or much more so) than the cost of a tank but the the Poles being Polish and thinking everyone does it like they do in Poland supply the bearings separately and sorta expect them to be changed.
It was really weird talking to one of the dudes there when I was trying to get out him the attitude towards some stuff, like bearings, when they don’t supply carbons for their motors. Some things that some manufacturers do are just bizarre but there’s usually a reason for it.

Yes but even adding £25 to Rc normal rate still only pays around £62 :rolls:
Getting £50 for every Amica job for tightning a weight or changing a pcb.
I know which I would rather have 🙂
The amount of smaller jobs out ways the larger ones, and they are not exactly difficult to work on 😉

As long as you’re willing to take £31 for some currys jobs and the same for Crosslee work then they are fine.
I personally told them to stick it for rates like that.
