ParticipantI attended the machine, the machine was not heating up and I found that the drainage channel were blocked with wet fluff. Cleaned it out and the float as well. I thought it was the float switch but it working well.
The pump works as it is pumping up water to the top. The empty water light is still on although there are heat and drainage.
Searching on the forum on different forums on this website, it says if this light stays on then it means that the safety switch is tripped. So where do I find this switch, is this the thermostats on top of the heater unit, if so which one and how do I reset it?
A response would be good so I can get back to the client to reset it for peace of mind.

The fact its heating & pumping means the safety stat couldn’t have tripped out because if it had you wouldn’t have any heat.
So I assume from what you are saying its all working now apart from the water light staying on?
The unblocking of the fluff from the channel would normally have given you a not pumping fault rather than a not heating.
Was the water light on before you visited??Im a little confused…..

You are not the only one that is confused! I am saying that its all working now apart from the water light staying on.
I did not check it function before I started as I kind of knew what’s the fault that either is the blockage or heater fault. My assumption was right that it was the blockage. I was told that there were no heat before I started work on it. I cleaned it out and the heat restored to the delight of my client.
I queried about the light with the client – she says it been like that for a long time and did not have any effect. I left it there with the understanding that the light on could mean something else and may lead to another breakdown. She understood and accepted the risk. She concluded that if it breaks down then she will buy a new dryer. I think it was a love and hate relationship with the dryer.
All I am looking for if it is a case of a simple reset or wait until the machine righted itself.

Could it be a switch at the rear of the water container?
