As above. I replaced meter tank-sump hose a few weeks ago. Has been filling in one long go since that, rather than in 3 distinct sections as previously. Was working Ok but now stops at all parts of prog after filling. If I advance it a bit it happily finishes that part with all pumps working until it fills again when it stops. Have searched but don’t think it’s circ pump/motor prob. I opened up side panel and could hear a ‘fizzing noise’ and saw a small amount of water near some connectors behind the kickplate when I switched it on. Switched it off and left to dry! All help gratefully accepted!

I would seriously suggest you contact a local independent engineer to take a look at it for you. Click HERE to find one in your area.:D

    Hiya
I think I solved the problem!
Turned out the float in the water metering tank was stuck. Scraped off some scale from the sides and top and after POWER OFF bent the metal float switch lever up 2 mm whilst holding it firm with pliers. Now works OK.
The fizzing was a bit of water getting on electrics but I switched off and left it to dry – turned on few hours later and the fizzing had gone. I think the machine was flooding and although there isn’t a ‘flood container’ on these older machines some mechanism must have an emergency overide to stop flooding? The water on the electrics must have come from that as it’s not happening now?
I put most of the machine’s probs down to scale – i.e. this, plus a recurrently blocking metering tank-sump hose and burned out water inlet valve.
