My Beko CDA543F is just over 3yrs old and it is running ‘all the time’ (day or night) and the freezer fan is running continuously too and I never hear the appliance ever switch off, but I would have thought it should?? It is installed in my kitchen and the fridge and freezer food is always fine.

The upper half of the back wall of the fridge is now continually frosted up. I have the always kept the fridge temperature dial on 1 to 1.5 as the engineer who installed it told me to is this correct?

Would you please be kind enough to let me know what you think the problem is.
    Thank you

I would suggest your appliance is short of refrigerant, you will need a refrigeration engineer our to look at it.

They’re not known for that Ian. 😉

What does go a lot is the defrost timer and the bi-metal stat and we change both regularly on these Beko fridge freezers. I can’t guarantee it obviously but it’s a pretty common failure from what I’ve seen coming back on these.

You’d need to check both to see if they were okay but, if the defrost timer doesn’t advance onto a defrost cycle then you will have the unit running for extended periods and it won’t defrost automatically.

As Ken said the timer is a common fault on the Beko and it pays to replace the bi metal heater stat at the same time.
The good news is it is not an electronic timer so not as expensive to replace.
A temporary fix can last upto 2 to 3 weeks is to turn of for 48 hours with the doors open to defrost.
