ParticipantBeen to one of these today – no circulation on bottom rotor. Demolition revealed a motorised distributor unit on the heater box, presumably to alternate the supply to top and bottom rotors. The motor has continuity to it and through it. However, it is impossible to test for power with the layout of the machine.
Anyone got any experiences of this – I’ll have to decide if it’s a heater box or computer board to order, and I don’t want to get it wrong!

Chris,
I think that motor is just for the half load feature to feed the top arm only rather than a AEG style alternating supply type which I think is a AEG/LUX patent. so presuming of course it isnt actually on a half load programme accidently, the valve may well be stuck. Tricky one to check though as you say as if you strip it down you are left with a kitchen floor of parts and impossible to test.

Sorry Chris cannot shed any light on this problem, but having looked up the model on BSH’s web site, it just appears to be a normal machine??
I don’t see any “Motorised Distributor Unit” on the Heater Box 😕
Yours mystified,
Martin

It looks as though it may be a non removable part of the heater chamber looking at the picture there’s a “lump” on the bottom of it which you wouldn’t normally expect to see on this type.
I have the slimline version of this, they do alternate between the upper and lower spray arms during normal wash programmes, mine does anyway.
Take the heater box away and stick 240V across the motor on a workbench maybe ?
Dave.

Done one of these today P, order the heater box, comes as complete item, stripped down my faulty one found sheared gears inside motor unit.

Penguin,
Before changing the water heater check the valve on the side chamber, the machine will fill once through the inlet valve direct to the sump and then fill again through the side chamber then it dumps the water in. If not enough water it will only spray to top arm. Have been caught out before with exactly same symptoms (whilst working for Bosch!)
