customer defrosted f/f for first time last week, had it turned off for about 36 hrs, its been running now for about 2 days but wont stop flashing e3 on the “freezer room” half of the display. im guessing a thermister has got grumpy???, but e3 seems to be a pretty common issue tho based on googles results… just theres no solutions that i could see :s

E3 is a failure of the defrost thermistor, normally a bad connection on the pcb, wont usually affect the freezer cooling as temp sensor failure in freezer is E2.
If not a loose connection on the pcb the defrost thermistor is not accessible as it is foamed into the rear liner, therefore to replace would mean digging out the insulation and then refoaming, not practical, also currently no part number available.
All the sensor connections are on block X1 along with the door switch

cheers sean, have you any info on how to access this pcb, is it roof mounted, rear mounted (couldnt see it there unless its tiny) or in the door or elsewhere??

also is there anyway of clearing the error code on the door lcd screen? or will it do that automatically if its just a bad connection nipped back up when turned back on.

also lastly, if cust not bothered about e3 flashing, will it matter if its ignored? wasnt aware this was a frost free f/f as theres no rear air channels in freezer, so will it work normally? she would like to get it to last thru the summer as shes moving to bigger premises sometime just before christmas, when she will get something bigger, but obviously if its as hot this year as it has been last few years in june/july, will ignoring hte e3 make a difference? cheers in advance!
