    Hi

I have a slimline Electrolux dishwasher, ESL4115, which I normally only need to use on a quick cycle.
It seems v wasteful to use a whole d/w tablet – does anyone know whether smaller ones are available, please? I have tried breaking a big one in two, but often the centre bit is impossible to crack!…

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Thanks!

If you use the Fairy Burst ones it should be fine.

But constant quick washes aren’t recommended. 😉

Thanks for the advice. Why is it not a good idea to use too many quickies?

    Re: Mini dishwasher tablets?

It’s not a full and proper wash and often at a lower temperature so things like tannin in cups or mugs used for tea build up over time and become a nightmare to clean. The detergent often doesn’t get to work correctly either, especially the hard pressed tablets that you were using as they cannot dissolve fast enough so the wash results are compromised on top of the above.

And there’s the machine itself not getting cleaned properly as well as the dishes.

A quick wash on a dishwasher is pretty pointless in my opinion as no-one is usually in a rush for the dishes unless you’ve got a dinner party going on (I could bore you with why this is the reason and how dishwasher fast washes came about but won’t) and it saves very little in terms of energy but gets poorer results.

I just fire the dishwasher on a normal or heavy soil program, I’d never dream of using a quick wash cycle.
