Hi, I have the above machine and when it goes on to the spin cycle it stops and all the lights flash. Cancelling the programme won’t stop it, the only thing that works is switching it off at the plug, but it won’t spin on any programme.

We have checked for blockages in the pump, filter and pipes and it will fill and empty water, just won’t spin. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks. 🙂

You need to tell us which lights are flashing, ignore the mains light and give us the left hand, vertical lights by number from top down.

If all of the lights are flashing then you have a known fault on the main PCB.

Sorry, the horizontal programme lights – super wash, extra rinse, mini load, reduced creases and the start/pause light. The vertical lights don’t flash, the spin light stays on.

Almost certainly a failure of the shoddy Indesit electronics used in this machines. :rolls:

Normal error codes are given using the vertical lights on the left.

The vertical lights are on the right. 🙂

😳 I was rushing off to play a game of squash and didn’t check.

You are correct, however my earlier observations still hold true. Your 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Indesit machine, with its sealed drum, cheap bearings, dodgy electronics, very poor wiring with awful connections to the motor and all has more than likely got a faulty PCB or possibly an earth fault on the motor.

If you have access to a megger or multimeter you could remove the mains plug and do an insulation test on the motor and the heater.

After that you may have to avail yourself of your five year parts warranty.

Re: Hotpoint Aquarius WML560 – flashy lights!

We bought the machine ‘refurbished’ 6 months ago with a 3 month warranty so I suppose we should be grateful it lasted 6 months. We’ve been delaying the inevitable, that we will have to buy a new one sooner or later, but we don’t seem to have £250+ laying around the house!

    Can the PCB be replaced?

£250 gets you bargain basement, very poor quality appliances.
Anything even half decent starts at around £400.

To replace the PCB you will need a PCB at over £90, a £12 smart card to programme the PCB, oh and also a smart card reader again over £90. From this you will understand why the Indesit Group products are not highly regarded by the trade.

You could Google for EMW. 😉

Or better still see if you can find a good local independent to take a look at it.

It’s really not worth spending money on then, even to replace parts. Guess I’ll have to find a launderette. :rolls:

Thanks for your help, I’ll stay away from this brand in future.
