ParticipantFitted a new heater as it was leaking from the rubber pipe. It now fills before pumping out completely therefore the anti flood float switch comes in which tries to pump the water out. Did not have this fault before.Unfortunately the pump is not evacuating the water fast enough and it floods. The pump seems pathetic so changed it. Same fault. Tried changing the fill sensor.Same problem. Could i have wired the heater incorrectly?
There is a link from the heater pressure switch to one side of the element which must be correct. Also a single cable and a double cable. Which one to the other connection of the element and which to the other side of the heater pressure switch?
Can not seem to find wiring diagrams on the BSH website.April 20, 2011 at 12:17 am #349751gandh1

The Anti flood turns on because the mushroom shaped cap inside the tub floats on the overfilling water. Unfortunately it does not pump it away fast enough.

IIRC the single wire (red/white???) fits to the element although in theory it wouldn’t matter which way round you connect the two wires as the heater pressure switch is in series with the element?

It wouldn’t just be that you haven’t put the little grey plastic pump cover (600949) back in place would it? 💡

it’s not the type with the torx head screw that fixes the little cover in place. This pump you get to from the little front panel and turn clockwise to remove.
