I cured the problem but just wondering anyone ever come across it. I forget the mdel number but it’s 2 years and it’s like the Wf set up, same type board. The fault was no heat and washing for ages. Customer told me when it was less than a year old element had gone and Hotpoint replaced it under warranty..

I checked element and it was ok. When i checked the plug that goes onto the board the 2 pins inside the plug that go to the element were spread apart so obviously not making contact with the pins on the board. What could cause this? There was no sign of heat or burning on the plug….wierd … 😕 Anyway just a heads up to check if you get a no heat problem.

My best guess as to what caused the plug pins to be spread apart, would be test probes forced into the plug to test the heater circuit. Had anyone else looked at the machine?

Generally oxidisation causing warming of the plugs when charged expands the connections as far as I can see.

    in short… rubbish electrics
