ParticipantI went to a John Lewis JLTDC01 condenser dryer (916 096 056-0-0) (I guess it’s an AEG) that was doing everything but heat. No error codes showing.
On removing side panels I found a fridge-type round black compressor unit inside the dryer. This rather threw me, as whilst I can see the theory behind using one, I have never ever come across this before (and I started in this business around 1970).
Can anyone enlighten me as to what to test, or better still send me a service manual! I guess “Help!!!!” is the correct expression!Happy Easter and take some time off guys!

It’s an Electrolux based heat pump dryer that uses refrigerant gas in the same way a fridge does (basically) the other way around to create heat in the dryer from what I can see.
Think on the refrigerant circuit as a heating element of sorts.
Had a quick look at it on ProCorner, looks lovely to work on… NOT!
No tech docs came up though. 🙁
And, it lists steam as well so I’m assuming there’s a steam generator in there as well.

I understand that you can get the base complete with heatpump for only £460 – what a bargain

Oh I was also just thinking I worked on a zanussi t/d a few weeks back I don’t know if it is the same set up but that wasn’t heating and it turned out there is a little cut out behind the facia panel its tucked right down between the top of the drum and the facia. 😉 again hope this helps DJ

Could be, just. They produced them in 2006 and scrapped the idea soon after IIRC?
Best of luck myfil…our thoughts are with you on this one. 😈
