    I am hoping someone can help.

    I have an eight year old Hotpoint FFA90 Fridge/Freezer and on coming back in this afternoon the Freezer is beeping and flashing a temp of 1 degree (normally set to -19) and the food had started to defrost.

    Is there anything I can check to diagnose the problem?

    It could be a few things.

    Is the compressor running?

    Can you see any blockages of ice in the freezer?

    Hi

    Hope you can help me please,

    I have same issue,

    compressor is running and hot the radiator/grill is not that warm, no ice deposits in the freezer, i have had myn for abou 8-9 years also,

    i did have a fault 2-3 yr ago when the freezer started to grow ice in the freezer at the bottom it was a pipe frozen that takes water out to the tray above the compressor.

    Thanks for any advice / pointers

    ps it did happen about 2-3 months ago i simply pressed FF ( fastfreeze) and slowly the temp returned to -19 or i think it did because it does not give actual temp, but the little triangle near the temp is nearly always flashing possibly meaning it is trying to drop the temp and the freezer did not seam all that cold ie ben n jerrys ice cream was very soft, and now since postint the temp has dropped to about -8 but still beeping,

    help please!!
