My Whirlpool S20DRSS33-A/G fridge freezer has a dripping water dispenser. The falt is intermitent but getting worse. I thought it might be some kind of failing or calcified washer/seal but also note that there is a spare part called a “water valve” which might need replacing. Does anyone have any experience of dealing with this issue.

Can you give me the 12NC number off the rating plate so we can have a look see what the setup is on that model?

    Hi
I’m assuming this is one of the two long numbers accompanied by bar codes. The first of these is 8586 158 15020 and the second is 11 0437 025193. Excuse my ignorance if this is not what you need. There isn’t anything on the rating plate that explictly identifies it as a 12NC reference.

    Thanks

    It’s the 858615815020 number. 😉

The water valve is mounted at the rear on the base by the looks of it and is part number 481236058283 from this link.

It doesn’t look to be tanked or have any other obvious reason that I can see from the information I have access to for it to leak. Unless any of the guys know anything common I’m not aware of. The water valve on that machine is a pretty common fault though and, as usual, it’s hardly what you’d call cheap for what it is.

Thanks. That has done the job. Push fit much easier! Now just can’t get it to start making ice. I am wondering whether having water supply off for two weeks because of the dripping has somehow allowed pipes or mechanism to ice up.
