Hoover AMA122 No spin and no fill

My partner was called to this one, original fault was that it had tripped the electric, On inspection the machine would not fill, would not spin but would drain. There was a light clicking from the motor, when turned manually, so possibly an overheated comutator. A replacement motor was fitted but still no fill and no motor action. There was no sign of anything on the module, all clean, and wiring to the motor and fill valves was OK aswell.
I reckon that although no sign of excitment around the module it probably is the module that needs replacing, sorry if this is a bit vague but the information is second hand. Any ideas?
