Just came back from one of these after a call for not emptying.
Removed a wire from pump and put it on a wash and it worked fine.
Customer just called back to say it got to end of cycle and the end light was flashing (not on steady as normal) and the door won’t open.
I got her to turn the knob to the off position and she was then able to open the door but the clothes were still soaking, so it musn’t have spun.
I can’t find a fault code for this type and I don’t have a tech manual, does anyone an idea/a manual.Cheers

Maybe martin, although looking at the instruction manual online, i think she may have it in ‘rinse hold’ or she may have a broken spin knob cos when she turns the control knob ‘off’ and on again she can drain/spin as normal when manually selected.

Update.
I’ll start by saying that i’ve not checked the brushes yet (difficult m/c to extract) but I had a few minutes the other day so I put it into diagnostics mode and checked alarms, (both lights flashing once – fill prob). cancelled the alarm and put it thru full diagnostics cycle with no faults and no other alarms showing up.
But, customer says it wont drain or spin unless done manually, it sits there with water in and the ‘end’ light flashing.
Sounds like its in rinse hold but it’s not.
Would the brushes cause this or am i looking at a board?Re: ZWF1221w

Heater is good Martin, just replaced the carbons even though they had half an inch on them and it seems to be ok….I’ll know for sure when she does full washes, cheers for the input.

Another update
Heater good, motor good, carbons good and everything works!
except for its ability to go into a spin on its own…
It’ll wash and do everything but it stops and the ‘end’ light flashes and it will only spin/drain if selected manually. There’s no obvious damage to the board but I assume thats what I’m looking at now…
Anyone any other ideas that I might have missed??Cheers

What insulation readings did you get from the heater & motor, anything under about 40 megg could be causing problems ?

Fair enough, so being as the problem originally was a blocked pump and pumps wear out inside of 3 or 4 years anyway, maybe its the pump bearings are knacked? Or that the sump hole ball is clogged with debris or maybe the air hose is gunged up?

Martin,
There’s nothing blocked up as I removed sump hose and air hose when clearing the pump during the first call and I didn’t stick in a pump as it pumps everytime I select it but it wont move into drain/spin on its own…d

I had a ZWF1621 doing the same and changed most parts including control module, heater and pump the only major part not changed was the motor – never managed to correct fault as customer decided to replace machine. on the odd occasion I did manage to get fault code but was unlisted and can’t remember what it was now. I did wonder if it could have been a faulty overload in motor.

Likely the motor going out on thermal overheat, i’ve come across this a few times especially with Sole ones even if brushes were good, if you were at machine during wash when it went off motor would be really hot to touch. This throws up an E50 fault to customer, 5 flashes.

Cheers for all the input guys, customer is happy using it away as it still works manually, whether it’s the motor or the board I’m not sure as everything checks out, it even goes thru a full diagnostic check with zero problems!
What was bugging me is the fact that the machine is acting exactly as it would if it was in ‘rinse hold’ mode. I thought the spin control dial was faulty but it seems ok and it seems to control the spin speed.
I’m a bit lost and I hate not knowing for sure but hey ho…
