    Hi,
This tall frost free freezer, sounds like the fan is stuck in ice or jammed. Don’t usually do Bosch freezers so not sure how to get access. The part number is 484042 for the fan motor, anyone had to change this or is it always ice? Any clue on getting to it would be great. The customer has lots of food so was reluctant to turn off for a defrost.

    Thanks for any help
    Graeme

Normally iced over evaporator caaused by door being left open is a common problem on these. It might be a pain but a full defrost is always first course of action.
Can you see icy snow through the grills in the top of the freezer ?

If the problem the re-surfaces , next focus point would be checking for an open circuit defrost heater . Unfortunately , its not the easiest thing to get to but basically the front grill unclips and this exposes the connectors for NTC , thermal fuse and defrost heater……but these can’t be accessed if the evaporator is frozen over .

    Hi Paul,
I had the front grill off, could not see any way of getting to the fan. There was a little soft ice, pointed my hairdryer around for 20min but the fan motor was still just humming. Will phone them to arrange to turn it off and defrost.
    Thanks

If the evaporator is iced up , chances are it’ll be iced up all the way to the back so a full 48hr defrost really is the only way to fully clear it and to allow a better examination/test .
