ParticipantMy Bosch dishwasher does not power up (no lights on the control panel).
I’m getting voltage at the on/off switch, and I’ve now removed the control module but there are no obvious signs of burnt out components on the two boards inside it.
Any ideas please?May 10, 2011 at 8:23 pm #350951kwatt

Kwatt. Would a faulty door switch result in no lights whatsoever on the display?

Usually it’s the main module that goes AWOL. (New module part number = 498607)

Thanks Martin. As I said in my original post, the module shows no signs of burning or other damage. It is an expensive part so i wouldn’t take the risk of fitting a new one unless I was sure that was he cause of the problem.
On the other hand I’m reluctant to scrap an otherwise immaculate machine.
Is there any way I can test the module?May 11, 2011 at 2:22 pm #350955Martin

Nope, but it’s the Module that needs replacing 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time with these exact symptoms. Make of that what you will but all I can add is that I’ve replaced dozens………

I now think the on/off switch may be the cause of the problem, which would seem a more logical explanation than the module. And cheaper!
I’ve tested the switch and the end two terminals appear to do nothing (there are 6 terminals and 6 wires connecting to them). Neither of these two terminals have continuity with any of the other terminals, whether the switch is in the off or on position. I can’t think of any explanation for this other than a faulty switch.
The switch terminals could just be corroded so I’m trying to pull the switch apart to have a look, but so far without success.
Has anybody managed to get the on/off switch apart? -
