    Hi,

    I have a problem with my SMEG mod UK60MFX1 type 252 sn 49AQ1174 oven. When using fan forced cooking for over 30 minutes all the knobs on the main panel get extremely hot. The oven then cuts out and the digital display goes off. The oven will not switch back on until it cools down. After looking at the door etc I have noticed the seal is intact and attached on all 4 corners. It is loose though in between the corners. Could someone please tell me whether it just needs to be reglued or a new seal needs to be purchased. Or would this not be the cause of the problem.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Sounds like the safety cut-out doing its job. You have either a temperature control problem, or possibly an earth leakage problem on the fan oven element.

    If you are not ABSOLUTELY sure what you are doing, I’d get an engineer to have a look at it. Either look in the Directories section for an engineer in your area, or stick you post code up here and someone will contact you.

    Anyway, PTPF – pull the plug first.
