    Hello,

I hope you can answer the question below for me.

My dishwasher is a Hotpoint model BFI680 – integrated. I want to replace the old interlocking assembly with a new one as the spring has broken and I can not close the dishwasher door.

I have trouble removing the old interlocking assembly though. I can not see any screws that keep it into place as with other models. Instead, it looks like that it is “clipped” to the dishwasher door via the two inner side round holes at the bottom. Tried to remove it with putting a flat screw driver under them and applied some force but gave up as I was quite scared that I will break something and make things worse. Any suggestion on how to remove the old interlocking assembly when no screws are in place?

    Many thanks

    Andreas

    You mean this door lock?

The inner panel of the door will probably have to come off, or just the fascia. I’m not familiar enough with Indesit dishwasher to help much more than that.

As your machine is fully integrated you will have to remove the decor panel first.

Then after making sure you have switched off at the mains plug, remove the screws holding the console to the inner door.

You may then be able to access and change the latch, if not then you may have to remove the lower, inner door panel.

Whatever you do take extreme care, the edges of the inner door are very sharp indeed. :eeek:
