has anyone had problems with washing machine hoses?
fitted a siemens iq 500 washing machine yesterday for customer that they brought, used the new water hose suppiled with the machine, connected machine up water tested machine for leaks etc showed customer water going in machine and draining all fine, then done demo to show how machine works, all fine.. 1am this morning customer phones to tell me been woken by sound of water, comes downstairs to find the whole downstairs (living room, dining room, hall way and kitchen) all cover in 2″ of water,go out there to find that the water hose had come off the tap under sink.which was fitted tight and checked and rechecked befor leaving, now waiting for the loss adjuster to call so can check damage caused..

What’s the model number of the machine? As far as I’m aware that series just use the standard (Part No :266859) inlet hose, which are normally pretty bullet proof. 🙁 😕 It wasn’t fitted to one of those modern plastic plumbing pipes was it?

model number is wm16s796gb and yes it was fitted to a y piece adaptor along with the new dishwasher, fitted loads never had a fault, when went back and looked at the hose the female thread on the hose didnt seem to look right compared to a new blue inlet hose that i had on the van, problem now got is that the customer contacted there supplier (bennetts) who sent out a driver to take a look at hose when he got there he justed quickly swapped the hose over without tightening it properly
and went off with the hose which the loss adjuster says he needs it to inspect for any fault

Oh blimey, a complex tale where ‘the evidence’ has ben spirited away by a third party eh? Sadly Friday the 13th sounds as though it was not only eventful but costly too! 😯 😥
