    Hi
I had no problems for over 10 years with the oven, but I have had to replace the main element (262180) twice in 5 years. The latest element appears to be faulty too, as it is causing the main LCD to trip above 180degC. The first 2 elements just went ‘ping’ and didn’t work at all. Having read the posts on this problem, it looks like the element is on it’s way out, but that’s not really my question.
What I really want to know is – would I reasonably expect a genuine Neff element to last better than a copy version. The repair guy I bought the spare from mentioned that elements are all lower quality than in years gone by. Is this true, or is he just talking about copy parts and not genuine Neff?
I’m looking forward to jamming my head in the oven again, it’s getting to be a habit…but I’d rather not do it again for another 10 years 😆

An oven element is like a light bulb… two minutes, twenty years… who knows.

However, on those ovens seriously check that the fan motor is okay. They have a nasty habit of running slow allowing the element to heat up in places giving a “hotspot” and the element pops. Obviously as they get older and more grease vapour ingresses to the motor it becomes more of an issue leading to what appears to be a premature fan element failure when, it isn’t really.
