My Hotpoint TDL52 tumble dryer has suddenly stopped working. I have tested the cable and it is getting a live feed. I took the door switch out and ran a continuity test on that and the switch seems fine. I know the switch is getting a live feed But there are no live wires anywhere near the timer switch at the top of the machine.

Are there any other things to check ???

    Cheers

    Chris

Your insurance policy for a start. :rolls:

There is absolutely no need whatsoever to ‘live’ test an appliance, especially one as simple as a tumble dryer.

A simple continuity test with the mains plug removed is all that is required.

You should get continuity between the live terminal of the mains plug and at least one contact on the timer with the door closed. If not then it sounds like a faulty door switch.

Steady on mate calm down lol you’ve got me wrong there all I did was put my cable tester pen on the mains cable so not near any live terminals so no danger involved.
