ParticipantGood afternoon everyone,
Wondering if anyone can advise on a problem on the above washer/dryer.
The customer reports that on certain programmes the programme skips along the led’s, thus affecting the wash results.
I have visited her today, and checked. When selecting any of the 3 daily/quicker wash programmes, the led lights either the 15,30 or 60 led, rather than the red start led light.
When other programmes are selected the start led is immediately illuminated, before progressing along the other led’s.
The customer assures me that this has only just started to occur. i.e. the machine used to begin with the start led lit on any programme.
No other faults reported or found when testing.
I suspect the electronic control unit/module, if indeed there is a fault, and would welcome some advice, especially as I/we are unable to test theses units.
Best wishes,
jontymox

Assuming Ive read the post correctly….?
The programme selection sounds fine.
The 29 minute wash should illuminate the 30 minute led when its starts, as it is less than 60 minutes in duration.
Any cycle over 60 minutes will cause the start light to illuminate at the beginning. If you select spin or drain the 15 minute led will illuminate.
I think she may have you on a wild goose chase?
Run it on its diagnostics just to keep her happy.
Do check the heater isn’t open circuit as this can cause programme cycles to extend.May 20, 2011 at 8:12 pm #351884gandh1

also check the wash temp selector isnt on cold = that quickens the 90* wash somewhat more than normal 🙂

Thanks chaps,
Agreed, probably no fault.
Could you let me know how to carry out the diagnostic cycle, as I don’t have that information.
Thank you.

martin, dont spose you have diagnostics for an hnl 3136 (iirc) as ive just replaced the pump on one which was knackered & timing out on drain, but a week later, its still not behaving properly 🙁

the time out on drain fault is a faulty heater…. the other fault is a fulty selector

definitely heats up, was first place i checked as i know hoovers have corroded terminal issues, and have had it go thru a 90* wash ok too so will assume it might be pcb then :s
diagnostics would still be useful to have just in case tho,

Martin,
Wondering if you received my correspondence re: my email address?
I would appreciate the diagnostic procedure, so that I can close this job.
Kind regards,
