ParticipantHi
We’ve just bought a faulty Miele G7859 dishwasher. It’s a professional model designed for sterilising dishes etc by high temperature – would work v well for our little project.
It’s not been used for several months so is empty of water (I think), but shows F11 code when turned on.
For most Miele dishwashers, this means a drainage problem. Does anyone know if this is the case for this model and suggestions as to where to start would be gratefully received! The drainage pump looks a bit rusty, so I suspect this may need changing – if so, can you supply one without me needing a mortgage!
Thanks v much in advance.

Hi Andy,
On Miele in general you’re stuck with Miele and Miele prices as they are very restrictive on service information. On professional machines that goes double with underlines. 🙁
I do think it’s a drain error or drain timeout fault code more accurately but can also be caused by a faulty relay on the board.
And, worse still, you will only get the parts from Miele and, for that you will probably be required to surrender a limb or two. 🙁

Hi K
Thanks for the comments. I’m pretty much resigned to replacing the pump. But I’ve one other issue :
The dishwasher is completely empty – bone dry in fact. But still shows F11 as soon as it’s turned on. So I think I have one (or both) of following issues :
– A faulty sensor somewhere that is telling the machine that it’s full of water. Any ideas as to where this could be?
– An uncleared fault code – if this is likely, any idea as to how to clear it?
Thanks for the comments re relays – I’ve spotted 2 on a circuit board near the front and will test then. At least there should be a good chance of being able to buy the relays from RS / Farnell!
Again, any comments would be much appreciated. Our little project is an ice cream manufacturing company in the Highlands – please drop by for free ice cream!

No problem.
I don’t know what sensors are used but I’d expect that if the pump was faulty or jammed it’d give that error.
Clearing the codes you may be stuck with having Miele come do that for you. They do that sadly. 🙁
Rumour has it that the machine will run if the problem is resolved but that the fault code can only be cleared by a Miele engineer with a Miele laptop or, by a series of key presses and, not surprisingly, only Miele know the sequence.
