ParticipantHi there,
I have a Liebherr CNes 3866 fridge freezer, service No 0974 506-00. The freezer stopped working yesterday, the temp. rose to -5 with the accustic warning and a fault code F4 in the display.
I have pulled it away from the wall and have cleaned the backside, although it was not very dusty. Readjusting the freezer temp to -23 the freezer started cooling down again, but just to -11 and then up again to -6.
I have switched it off for a few moments today and then on again with the same result. Initially the cooling of the freezer would start but then stop again at about -11 and today the fault code F4 was back in the display with the beep going off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The machine is telling you that there’s a fault with the freezer compartment evaporator sensor but doesn’t elaborate on that at all as to what the cause might be beyond that.
However, on the parts info it only shows an air sensor in the freezer, which is this one.

hello, that part number is the correct one for both air and evaporator sensor.
as ken says, F4 relates to the evaporator sensor.May 24, 2011 at 3:44 pm #352051liebh

Thanks guys. On the website it says 3-28 days delivery. Any chance of a closer estimate.

Liebherr spares mostly come from Germany, hence the lead times. It’s hit and miss TBH, sometimes a few days and sometimes it drags on into weeks so, for the sake of honesty, we’re honest about. 😉
That sensor should be a stock line though and only a few days.

Thanks again,
I switched the fridge freezer off for 12 hours. Just about to start it again and if the fault is still there I’ll go ahead and order the evaporator sensor. Where is it actually located in the machine. Any advise on how to change it best and what to look out for, not to accidently damage any other parts?
