customer sayes it doesnt collect any water in the drawer , and it gives off a smell of burning when used anyone have info on these thanks

Blockage in condenser tank, possibly the pump impellor is gunged up with fluff.

Hi again Seamy , how do you gain access to the pump i take it thats it behind the plastic ducting and the motor

Should be acessed from back on right hand side, theres an access panel which needs to be taken off. Disconnect pipe & plugs to pump & reed switch first. There should be a retaining lug on left of pump, press it down & pump should turn anti clockwise & lift upwards & out. Make sure not to lose little ball for non return valve that falls out. Thats how I remember doing them.

there’s a small connector panel where the main power supply enters its 70mm x 40 mm on the back (looking from the back ) bottom left h/s of the machine nothing else there seamy looks like access could be gained by removing the motor support bar running at the bottom of the m/c lots of stripping to be done though , i cant see another way except taking the whole m/c apart ie ; , drum out thanks

Hi,
Not collecting water certainly suggests blockage or gunk preventing condensate pump working. Has the machine ever tripped the MCB/RCD? If there isn’t a removable panel at the rear of machine at 6 o’ clock position, I fear the drum needs removing to get at the reservoir. Not too bad to do, just need a bit of space. Is there a clear plastic hose visible at front of machine and have you tried blowing thru it?

Hi Conor , it hasnt tripped the rcd and i can blow through the hose its coming from the pump area thanks

On some of the older miele dryers, you need to remove the drum to view the interesting bits and have a poke around. Funny that the rcd hasn’t tripped. The burning smell needs to be investigated anyway, so drum out. Sometimes the heating relay gets stuck, check by carefully sliding top off relay and view contacts. Also check if fluff hasn’t built up around thermostat on the heater (rear of drum). Also are the carbon brushes on the top of drum (moisture sensors) aren’t worn down.

hi Conor , i got the drum out you were right it wasn’t too bad just loadsa screws , anywho the pump was a little dirty but not really bad but i put some water in the bottom of the pump tank and it stayed there so i’d say it was a blockage in the hole at the bottom of the pump tank ,all back together and turned her on but she stopped after 20 0r 30 seconds with an alarm beeping so i had a look around and i see a bent connector on the main pcb just below the heater relay i have a drawing from inside the m/c so i had to remove the connector to straighten it on the board and resolder , but still no joy so itraced it back to the relay above this connector not energising ie nothing coming through the relay , also dead giveaway elements not heating , its possible i could have damaged the connector and the relay has a little bit of white plastic like a tang or hinge of some sort making noise when the board is shaken , i can only try a board i guess do you know where i can get parts here beside the miele main distributor ? thanks kieran
