ParticipantMachine wont start. I tried lots of ‘resetting’ attempts with quick pressing, waiting, on, off etc but nothing helped.
I took the bottom rack and the mesh and other removable (by hand) bits out.
There was about 5cm of water in the bottom.
I drained this out with a tube and then tried again.
This time it did a full cycle – filled, circulated, got hot and drained all ok.
However, there is still a small amount of water, about 1cm and it won’t start again.
No error lights are appearing at the start but after selecting the program and closing the door a wait of 5 minutes then it beeps with the first and last light.
The manual says this only appears if there is water leaking.
I can see no sign of leaking water unless it is within the unit itself.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Yes, the leak could be inside as there’s a flood protection on that one if memory serves me. If activated it won’t go.
You’d need to take the front lower panel off to have a look.

Thanks for the reply 🙂
I have taken the lower front panel off and all looks clean and dry inside.
Any other ideas?

Faulty float switch? It has been known.
Basically it’s an E1 error code that you’re seeing which means that, in some capacity, the machine thinks that the flood protection circuit has been activated. This can be an anti-flood fill hose or the float switch in the base, any of the wiring for those or ultimately the controller itself.
Like us, you’ll have to dig about to find out what it is by elimination and diagnosing the cause. 😉

I will get digging 🙂
Is there a diagram showing what everything is to help me on the way?

Not really.
Most of the gubbins is in the bottom where you’ve been. 😉

I have taken off and cleaned up the side tank and as much of the hoses as I can. Tried it with both the float switch that leads from the side tank, both connected and not.
Same result. I select the program, it beeps,m then about 5 minutes later solid left and right lights.
I have taken out all the inside bits that unscrew and cleaned that up.
Is there anything else I can try it is it likely to now be electrical?

I’ll be electrical or the float switch jammed.

Is that worth getting somebody in to try and fix or given the age could it be a waste of money / expensive?

It’s probably well worth a try, a replacement of the same quality will cost you upwards of £500 at least plus fitting.

If I unplug the microswitch/float will that cause it to always stop the machine, or do the opposite and ignore the ‘flood’ test?
In other words if it’s the cause and I unplugged it, would the dishwasher then work?
At which point I can get a new one.
