my dishwasher works as normal except it does not now heat the water.I assume that the heater element has failed. Is this a simple plug in and replace diy type of job or is it more complicated? I would appreciate some advice on this.

these are relatively simple to excahnge, but its a 50/50 likelyhood of it being the heater though. the electronic-type zanussi dishwasher pcbs love to fail. youd be best of checkign the heater first before ordering any parts. you can check continuity thru the heater with a multimeter but that wont check for low insulation resistance, which is a common issue with electrolux elements. however that said, low insulation faults tend to show up by interuppting the program, rather than allowing the machine to go thru to the end of the prog as normal…
PLUG OUT BEFORE DOING ANY TESTING, and with zanussis, its also worth turning the cold tap feed off too.
