Hi all,
I have an Elica Cooker Hood (Model No. 372) that seems to have lost it’s power. There is power going to it but it’s not working near as powerful as it should.
I removed the surround from the ducting last night and I noticed that ducting is smaller than the fitting on the top of the extractor unit.
Is there anything I could do to fix the problem?
Any help would be great. 🙂

If the fan is still turning but with little power, would that suggest that the motor for the fan needs replacing?

I doubt many of the guys on here will see many of these which is why there are no replies.
I would hazard a guess and say yes it probably is the motor or if it has a PCB control unit that may be faulty.
They are expensive bits of kit so a repair is probably a good option.
You could try giving the distributors DR Cooker hoods a ring direct on 01252 351111 who may be able to put you in touch with a repairer.

The model I have is the Elica Igloo.
Does the PCB control the extraction strength and lights etc? As they are all working.
The problem is the extraction fan itself as it’s not working anywhere near full power and whoever installed the hood in the first place did not connect the correct size ducting (too small) and this may have caused to motor to burn out.
