    hi folks, my electric diplomat ABA4540 bottom oven has stopped working, the thermostat pilot light is also out, but the fan still works, i was thinking that the element was maybe knackered but visually it looks ok, maybe the thermostat has gone,, any ideas anyone,,, thanks in advance,,,,,,,

    Test the element and see if it’s open circuit is your first thing to be doing.

    It’s this element if you need it. The stat I don’t think we’ve ever been asked for so I’ve not listed it yet.

    hi, i removed the top and rear covers from my oven, had a quick look around and i have noticed that a spade connector has came off the connection to the back of the oven control knob, it is damaged and seems to be burned, one of the wires goes to what i think is the thermostat needle, the other goes to the pilot light, does anyone know if this is a diy repair job, thanks in advance, i will try to upload a photo

    this is a photo of the spade connector from my diplomat ABA4540 which is damaged, any advice if this repair is diy

    Try cutting off the old connector and crimp on a new one,if it still doesn’t work put on a new thermostat. That should solve it . Hth DJ
