hi i have a samsung p1253 washing m/c, that is beeping and stopping running with a fault code of 6e, i have been told the fault is a water heater problem, which doesnt make sense to me as whichever program u r on when the fault code comes on, the m/c is draining or appears 2b trying to drain at that time, which obviously shouldnt be happening if the m/c is trying to heat at that time, (ie. the m/c needs to be full of water to heat in the 1st place)could you please try to shed light on my problem

6e is a heater fault code so it seems a good idea to check the heater before concluding its nonsense??

Here’s an article all about this stuff.

Basically, what it says in essence is that fault codes are handy (sometimes) as a diagnostic aid but, they are most certainly NOT a replacement for diagnostic skills. They are not a magic bullet, don’t guarantee that you get the correct component or tell you that if you change out a widget it’ll just work again.

You still have to be prepared to do some legwork yourself in short and be able to test components with a multimeter in order to diagnose the problem. 😉

And, like a PC going though POST, if it finds an error on startup then many machines will simply abort, give you an error code and sit there looking stupid.
