We inherited this dishwasher with the fitted kitchen when we moved into our house in February, so I have no idea of its age. We used it pretty much every day but a couple of nights ago the dishwasher wouldn’t switch on. We’ve tried adding salt and rinse aid, cleaning out all the filters etc.

Unfortunately, the electrical socket is behind the dishwasher so I can’t check the fuse without moving the whole unit out of the cupboard – thanks whoever fitted it! Besides, I don’t think it is the fuse as the power light did come on briefly the day after it stopped switching on.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

    Thanks in advance 😀

Not a lot of suggestions I’m afraid as the obvious first thing to check is the fuse.

There are several bits and bobs that can be gotten to from the front but most things will require that the machine is pulled out. 🙁

Pulled out dishwasher changed fuse in plug lights came on. Pushed it back and tried to run it through a cycle but it made a clunking noise and switched itself. Sounded terminal, is it new dishwasher time? I tried the fuse I took out in another plug and it wasn’t dead after all, so power supply was a red herring 😕

    Hi Bistogirl,

There’s a number of things that it could be. It could be as simple a door lock fault or as bad as a recirc pump, without looking at it there’s no way to tell I’m afraid. Best bet is to get someone to look at it from the point you’re at.
