    Hi

I don’t know if I have a problem with the Thermostat or FSD. It’s either full on or low, If I set it to Gas mark 5 then it goes full on and stays like that, I can turn it down to very low and it goes low. This occured on the top oven first and now it has happened on the Main Oven.

I spoke to Creda (Hotpoint) they gave me the part numbers for the Thermostats and the FSDS, but I don’t know which could be the problem

    Please Help

    Thanks in Advance

    TonyL,

Hotpoint would be irresponsible to say the least in simply giving you the part numbers of the thermostat and FSD. You need to appoint a CORGI registered service engineer to repair your appliance. The sooner then better, DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY REPAIRS YOURSELF!

I would suggest however the problem is with the Thermostat!

If the thermocouple (FSD) had failed, you would not be able to maintain a flame in the oven at all.

Martin is quite right, DO NOT attempt this repair yourself, get a CORGI engineer in and you know the job will be done correctly – and safely.

You can check the DIRECTORIES section for an engineer in your area, or pop your postcode up here and someone should pick up on it.

Re: Creda First Choice GDW50 – Thermostat Problem

    Hi

thanks for the advice. I got it wrong with the main oven (missus gave me wrong details). The top oven looks like thermostat issue. The bottom oven
however does not fire up, just stays on low, maybe this is a FSD issue.

The cooker is only 4 years old, seems a bit soon for parts like this to fail

Anyway I will contact a Corgi engineer to sort it

    Thanks again

    Tony
