I got a call from the CAB today. They have a ‘client’ with a faulty Swan washing machine, just 8 months old. It’s broken down at least 5 times from new and half a dozen ‘engineers’ have been out to fix it. On the last 2 visits they have spent an hour or more trying to sort it all the while claiming they’ve sorted it, But when she tries it it simply fails to spin.

The ‘repair agents’ have thrown their hands up and admitted they refuse to go to any more ‘service requests’ and that they welcome a second opinion from another company as to what the fault is and submit a written report to them before they will take any further action. 🙁

If that wasn’t enough the ‘client’ took out a loan from a loan shark in order to buy this machine. The interest rate on the £200 she loaned turns out to be a staggering 3048{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} APR ( I repeat, three thousand and forty eight percent!!!!!)

I just thought I would share that with you for interests sake only. Suffice to say from this point on I am obliged not to make further comment owing a confidentiality agreement between myself and CAB.

In Martin’s defence, it’s not budget with that APR on it!

You use the term “loan shark” ie. Some hard man in a dodgy suit knocking on your door. I shit you not I saw a tv advert the other day for “short term loans” and in plain writing an the bottom 3840{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} apr. Me and the wife couldn’t belive it!

Swan more for the landfill I reckon. I’d rather go down the river than be ripped like that though. I’ve seen the adverts too with the APR, and its not exactly small print on the screen if I can see it 😯 . Or are they just totally stupid these people :rolls:

Being serious 😳 :offtopic: They are Vestel and from what I’ve seen aren’t too bad at the price compared to the Chinese stuff.
    Wouldn’t supply one though.

back to the serious stuff …

martin .. if you think it would help the outcome of the cab case i for one give my permission for you to use this post to demonstrate the seriousness of this industry when these cases are brought to our debating table ..
