I will soon be moving to Hungary and will need a cooker there. In the short term I can’t use an electric one as the house presently only has a 20 amp supply. There is mains gas in the village but not to my house and the gas in Hungary is expensive and of poor calorific value. Bottled propane is popular for cooking and that is what I plan to use. For some reason I’m told the jets to convert from mains gas to propane are very expensive in Hungary. I am therefore thinking of sorting out a suitable cooker to take with me. There are no restrictions there on DIY gas work but how easy would it be for me to buy a conversion kit or whatever here in UK? I will have to buy the regulator over there as they have different bottles to ours.

bottled propane and butaine are both LPG family liquid gasses, slightly differant operation pressures but with gastap bypass adjustment them jet should be ok.

Thanks. I’m thinking in the short term I might just take the cooker out of my camper van and set that up.
