    Hi

    My issue seems to be the opposite to most people – the bottom oven heats up but I don’t seem to have any control over the temperature – it seems to ignore the temprature control therefore I can get the right heat for cooking as its far too hot?

    I learnt my mother cleaned it whilst I was on holiday and it seems she jammed the metal shelf holders into the wrong holes in the back of the oven – I’m thinking this could have damaged the element or something else?

    Thermostat is faulty by the sounds of it.

    I agree, probably your mother has cut the capilary tube that runs up to the thermostat.
