The machine runs the comp. and gets cold, but no fan action. the fan tested ok.

Please can some one tell me what conditions cause the fan to not get a live feed?

The de-frost thermal cut out seems to be open circuit.

Would i be correct in assuming the fan is fed through this cut out?

    many thanks in advance.

You can trace the fan supply via the connectors back to the control pcb.
The fan is often controlled via the sensor and pcb which will switch the fan on when evaporator temp is -12c approx.
Have in the past when desperate, providing it is an a/c fan connected the fan terminal with the compressor supply at the pcb so it comes on when the compressor runs.
