over the past couple of months iv noticed the local waste carriers(Gypsy) being pulled over with the local authorities council police ministry and checking there vans and waste.

Now These Gypsy’s have registered as waste carriers .i don’t know whether they have register with HMRC yet.

Now They Are Complaining that there vehicle insurance costs has gone up through the roof there premiums are ranging between £2000.00 and £3000.00 a year for one of those small tipper transit vehicles just because they registered for waste carriers.

Is this going to be the case for carrying old pumps or carbons ❓

The ‘jackals’ taking scrap around this area have suddenly disappeared. The local paper reported that two vehicles last week had been stopped and confiscated with the wrong insurance.Apparently they are supposed to have hauliers insurance which is £2000 upwards.A bit worrying not knowing how far down the ‘food chain’ this applies.

    waste carrier insurance

    Hi

The old pump/motor appliance isn’t a problem as they are for repair ect. When you get a transit with twice the Height of scrap on it. IS THE PROBLEM.it’s also a way to get them off the road legally. All engineers should have class 1 insurance which is for business use.
