Replaced dryer element with gen part which went down to earth on fitting and despite trying to “cook it up” reading woulddn’t change so swapped for another new genuine which was OK.
Rest of machine is spot on.
Now tripping rcd on drying after 30 minutes use.
Its in a holiday cottage so dryer doesn’t get use nuch, tests OK cold but can get down to to 0.5 when it’s run for 30minutes or so.
Although both gen parts is it crap quality of element Im struggling with ?
Could be absorping damp when not in use but the element should be cable of withstanding that in its early life.
    Any thoughts please.

Sounds like a bad batch of elements to me. Now made in China no doubt. 🙁
Maybe someone on here has got an old one in stock that you could buy?

Hardly ever had to change an element on one of these, perhaps two or three in over 15 years.

In fact I may actually have one somewhere.
