My top oven really struggles to reach an abysmal 110C. The thermostat appears to be working fine. I assume that the grill elements double up as the oven elements. The grill works fine on full and half settings. So why doesn’t my top oven heat up quickly and sufficiently?

its possible the lower top oven element has failed, its hidden below the base of the grill assembly, power off if looking at it yourself.

    Hi bob

Thanks for that, ‘triffic name, by the way! I’ve not had the grill assembly out yet but thought it only had four elements (checked the pic on a spares site). are you saying that the top oven uses separate elements to the grill. If so, how come that the oven heats up a bit. Surely oven elements either work or they don’t – no half-way house.

the top oven uses both the grill elements and a lower element if one or the other fail it will only reach aprox 120c.
