Got a Bosch Maxx WFL 2000. It stopped spinning in December and, after some reading here, bought and replaced the carbon brushes.
My wife now reports that it’s stopped spinning again – same symptoms. I’m not going to be able to get a look at it until the weekend so I wondered what the chances are of it being the brushes again. If it’s likely then I’ll put in an order for another pair to get them on the way rather than waiting any longer. If 6 months is way too quick for them to wear out then I don’t want to waste the money – I know it’s only a tenner or so but times are hard!
Any thoughts?

For a start, a tenner only gets you cheap copies of the carbon brushes, you can buy them from this site but you can also buy the ‘proper’ ones HERE which are the only ones I will fit.
That said, if the pattern brushes have failed in such a short space of time then its possible the motor armature is faulty.
Of course it could just be that the drain pump filter is blocked. 😉

The lifespan also depends on how long you ran your old set after they had worn down.If it’s ran whilst arcing then the armature then has a sandpaper effect on your new set until it smooths out again,I myself clean the armature when carbons are replaced which gives a new smoother finish on the armature.
