ParticipantFor some reason this washer after 5 years has started some problem.
If I understand correctly, when you set dial to a action (say refresher) then it first runs the drain function. The failure to drain is why the water does not enter the washer. What I get is a buzzing sound only and no surplus water is ejected out.
OR if I set the dial to an action drain or spin then the drain does not work either
Is seems for some reason the waste pump is “working” but not ejecting the water. I have cleaned the filter but cannot see the impeller as referred to in other posts.
How do I check the waste pump on this model?

chances are the pump has gone but you access it from underneath. pump is on the left of the filter housing and you have to riase the filter housing up (about 1/2 inch) to withdraw the pump and check. it is a common pump so not expensive

I have tilted the machine over and the base plate covers everything.
So I suppose for this model I will have to get to it from the back of the machine?
It seems from the from the filter housing is loose after I removed the front “kickboard”July 9, 2011 at 5:30 pm #355183electrofix

if there is no way to get in from the bottom then
the front of the machine comes off
you have to remove the control panel, door gasket and door lock from the front and undo screws and it comes offDave

Ok I can see it from the back.
I will give it a try from the back first as it looks like taking of the front plate seems like a bigger job. Unless you advise it is the only way in.
The pump c/w impeller is on the RHS of the filter (with waste hose connected)July 9, 2011 at 9:34 pm #355185nonidentity

Well, so far I have removed the magnetic motors and examined the impellers. Behind the impellers “sandwiched” between the motor “stator” and “rotor” along the circumference was gunk. So much so I was amazed the motor worked at all recently. I had to repeat the cleanup with the other motor.
Surprising was the fact the build-up managed to ingress along the shaft from the impeller to the motor to gunk it up!Awaiting for a dry off as it was messy and wet then I am going to fire her up! Hopefully problem solved.
