Keymasterthe above appliances are the same, who makes for who?
also i have had a few issues with the pulley / bolts coming loose on the Amica, the same issue on the Matsui was cured by a very technical modification kit (
) part number from connect MDIB3012, is Amica supplying the same kit?July 11, 2011 at 6:07 pm #355261iadom

Are these fairly new machines. I have a call to one on Wednesday with a ‘no drum action’ fault. Not sure if I have a T50 torx bit either.
Its a good way out of my normal area, what does the mod entail, ( non Connect customer here ).

the modification is basically a new bolt that has locktight on it, and a wire brush to clean all the crap left behind from where the old bolt came out,

Good grief, I hope its not as bad as the old Hoover machines with the small black plastic pulley, even with the small modified washer and a new bolt & pulley it was sometimes impossible to keep those on for any length of time.

PS. I don’t think Matsui make anything, I thought it was just a name stuck on lots of Currys ‘exclusive’ brands.
It always made me laugh when I saw Matsui TV’s several years ago with this oriental ( Japanese, must be good )sounding name and made in UK on the back. :rolls:

also the statesman mxw10052 seems remarkably similar, the pulley bolts become loose as well.

Well after an early ( 6.30 am ) start I went out to this call and sure enough the pulley was loose and had thrown the belt off, not a T50 torx but a large 18mm hex head.
Its a bit of a worry TBH, machine is only six weeks old, single lady, lives on her own.
Refitted with loctite and tightened up as best i could, how soon will it be before it comes adrift again, have Amica acknowledged a problem and have they come up with a fix yet?
