    Hello,
    Grateful for any help here..

As per the title I have a problem with my dishwasher leaking out the sides (very bottom corners). When the cycle starts there is just a little leak each side, then it gets progressively worse. When the cycle has a pool of water in the base it seems to sloosh and push water out the sides.

I’ve been scouting around the forums and have checked the following:-

    1) Bottom and side seals: (just incase they have come off or perished) – they seem to be fine and in place. Although the bottom seal seems to stop short of the edges where the water is leaking from. I imagine this is normal because it worked fine before.

    2) Adjusting the door:- I tried tightening the ‘allen key’ screws at the top of the door to bring the door further in at the bottom. – Unfortunately this didnt make any difference.

I have also randomly opening the door to see if the paddles are spinning properly – the bottom one is fine but the top one doesnt appear to be spinning at all – although there is water coming out. (this may / may not have anything to do with it??)

I’m wondering if there is too much ‘dirty water’ congregating in the bottom area – this would certainly explain the ‘slooshing’ of water to overspill?…maybe… 😕 ….maybe not.

I’ve checked the filters, or what I think is the filters and they seem fine. All water drains as normal – albeit half way accross my floor 🙁

Like I say.. any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Chris.

    Model number is BFI620 BTW.

you may have a split in the lower spray arm. This was a very common fault on Brandt dishwashers but I have seen it on these Indesit ones as well.

Pull out the lower spray arm and carefully examine it down the seams, particularly near the ends. If the is a small split it sets up a wave inside the machine and spills out at the corners.

It could be due to the top arm sticking, the spray arms are quite cheap on these so changing both may be the answer.

    Hi iadom

Thanks for that.. I’ve just looked and the indeed the lower spray arm is split close to the end. I wrapped tape around the split to test your theory and hey presto the problem disappears (and the machine is quieter too).

Will remove the spray arm now and order the parts.

    Many thanks!
